Mare is one of the largest privately owned European chemical companies producing functional and process solutions for the pulp and paper industry. Headquartered in Ossona, Italy, Mare has strategically developed a global presence to ensure reliable, timely service to customers worldwide.

Mare is widely recognized for its reliability as a chemical supplier and technical partner in the papermaking industry, with a comprehensive portfolio including wet strength resins, dry strength agents, surface and internal sizing agents, coating auxiliaries, and additives for retention and charge control.

New lab offers great R&D facilities as well as customer application and analytical services.

Within pulp processing, Mare specializes in the production of MAREDIS, polymeric scale inhibitors. The portfolio includes homopolymers, copolymers and terpolymers synthesized from a broad range of monomers.

MAREDIS are specifically developed to control fouling and mineral scaling throughout the pulp and paper production process, helping to extend operating cycles and reduce downtime associated with equipment cleaning.

Mare’s technical service, supported by R&D and application laboratories, provides dedicated support to identify the root causes of scaling and to select the most suitable inhibitor, as well as on-site assistance during trials and operational evaluations.

Target applications include Kamyr digesters, black liquor recovery systems, and pulp bleaching processes, addressing critical scale types such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, metal oxides, burkeite, calcium oxalate, and barium sulphate.
